A idling warmed up duramax with A/C off, and in neutral uses about 0.2gal/hr (that less than 1 qt/hr or 1 oz/2minutes) according to my scanguage reading. turning on A/C and in drive ups it to 0.3 gal/hr. High idle (1200rpm) ups it to about 0.5gal/hr. so. not much fuel savings in turning it off for stop lights etc.
